Questions and Answers

Any resident of Salem City over the age of 8 is eligible for a library card. When you come to fill out the application for your card, please bring photo ID and verification of your address.

Non-residents can get a card for a small fee of $25.00 per year.

Simply look for “Library-Patron” and connect. No password needed — just agree to the terms of service. Our WiFi is open 24/7 and has a very broad reach.

We will answer the phone for questions during library hours. Otherwise you can email or text us with your questions.

eBooks, audiobooks, magazines and more are always available through the Libby app with your library card. There are over 100,000 titles available!

You can sign up for The Salem Scoop (library events and news) as well as other book recommend lists.

Yes. Please fill out and return a volunteer application and discuss when you can be here with either the Library Director or the Volunteer Coordinator. The library reserves the right to deny requests or approve only under special conditions.
